【Technical notes】Inductance and thermal stress analysis of busbar

Motors and inverters installed in automobiles and industrial equipment use high voltage and large current, and therefore use busbars for wiring. Busbar is required to have low loss and low inductance in terms of noise and heat generation. With Ansys Q3D Extractor, it is possible to visualize the frequency characteristics of resistance and inductance, current distribution, and power loss that are difficult to measure. In addition, by linking with Ansys CFD / Mechanical, it is possible to estimate the heat dissipation to the surrounding space and the amount of deformation due to thermal stress from the volume loss density analyzed by Ansys Q3D Extractor, and it is possible to design the electrical and mechanical of busbar.
