Industry Engagement - Simulation Day with CYBERNET at TAR UMT Penang

Empowering the Next Generation of Engineers
CYBERNET Malaysia and TAR UMT (Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology) jointly conducted a half-day seminar on engineering simulation. Over 50 university students, researchers and engineers from several leading manufacturing companies in Penang registered for the event. It was held on 25th August at the TAR UMT Penang Campus premises. This is the second Simulation Day seminar delivered by CYBERNET Malaysia this year in collaboration with leading universities in Malaysia.

  Mr. Jim Pong from CYBERNET Malaysia welcomed the attendees and briefly explained the Digital Engineering solutions offered by CYBERNET and how they can empower engineers to drive product innovation and support sustainable manufacturing through engineering simulation.

Application Engineer Albert Wong delivered the opening session themed "How Digital Engineering is Changing the Way Engineers Work", which included several mechanical & fluid simulation examples for the electronics industry.

An invited lecture on Advanced PCBs SI, PI, EMIEMC and Reliability by Mr. Desmond Tan (Regional Technical Manager ASEAN, India & Australia – ANSYS Inc Singapore) was the highlight of the event. His session focused on diverse and complex technological problems faced by today's electronics engineers and the innovative solutions available from Ansys to solve them.

Dr. Nur Farhanah Binti Zulkipli (Senior Lecturer – Department of Engineering And Built Environment, TAR UMT Penang Branch) shared an insightful presentation on Fiber Laser and another technical talk on "Optical & Photonics Systems for Industry 4.0 Automation" by Loh Kah How (Application Engineer – CYBERNET Malaysia) followed during the second half of the seminar.
